This is the second painting now I’ve made as a gift. This is one of the only pictures I have of it, and it isn’t the final version. I ended up painting thin horizontal lines beneath each “flame”. My own connection to Judiasm is pretty thin, but we were invited for an Hanukah celebration and I realized I could probably make a pretty nice abstract Menorah (which I learned while researching that the 9-branched Menorah used to celebrate Hanukah is more specifically called a Hanukkiah.
This is notable for being the first time I used masking tape to make 1 more more side of paint-knived globs of gel media and paint look more deliberate and have sharper edges instead of just, well, globs.
