I tried using non-drying mineral clay and regular blue acrylic paint in several layers to make raised shapes on foam core. Layers took forever to dry and the paint shrunk almost completely as it dried. Also the mineral clay stuck to the paint when finally removed and I couldn’t get it off the edges of the paint shapes.
