Molded Impasto Experiments #4

Did one last max-molded experiment to see if I could get a better result with some tweaks.

First, tried using WAY more pigment and even one shape with no acrylic paint, just “the pinkest pink” pigment and extra heavy matte gel medium. It cracked some when it dried so I touched it up and tried doing a second layer on top to see if I could make less shrinkage in the middle of the shapes. I mounded it up much more.

The shape with just pigment was too brittle. It cracked on top, and, underdried it cracked underneath and pulled away from the foam core. I removed the mold 02-08-2022 and all the underneath layers were gooey.

I still learned good things though, by using my finger to make a little bevel on every edge.
