The original “Carpal Splash” was so fun to make, I wanted to try a larger format version of it but the satisfying gestalt of that painting has proved elusive. I tried to make it one single Zen-like smash of paint, but just didn’t fill the canvas as well the first time, so I kept adding big glops of paint, finally with a big white pearlescent layer at the end.

It’s definitely not among my favorite paintings but the pleasure of getting a handful of paint is undeniable.
